Mary Claire Hyatt joined Fayetteville Public Schools on September 20 as general counsel for the school district, according to Superintendent Dr. John L Colbert. The hiring of Ms. Hyatt was approved by the Fayetteville Board of Education at their August 26 meeting.
“We are very happy to welcome Mary Claire Hyatt to our administrative team,” said Dr. Colbert. “She comes to us with impressive credentials, especially in education law, and we are confident that she will be an excellent addition to our team.”
“I am excited to join the dedicated members of the Fayetteville Public Schools team,” said Hyatt. “Their reputation for excellence is well-known, and it’s an honor to be a part of it.”
Ms. Hyatt comes to Fayetteville Public Schools from the Arkansas Department of Education, where she served as Attorney Supervisor. She also served as an attorney for the department. Prior to her service for the Arkansas Department of Education, Ms. Hyatt served as an attorney for Legal Aid of Arkansas.
Ms. Hyatt earned her bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Hendrix College. She earned her juris doctorate from the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, graduating magna cum laude.
